Hi there,
I have just joined the group today, in aid of some advice please.
I have been doing the active 2, 3 week kickstart programme every single day for almost two weeks most days I will do it in the morning and in the evening I have been working out on the days of rest and going to the gym 1 to 2 times a week for 2-3 hours each time. I have cut my portions down and am eating very healthy. Even tho I feel quite good, I have not lost a single pound in weight!!!!! Im getting really really fed up now I know its only been 2 weeks and thats not a long time at all but considering what i was eating before and doing no exercise at all i thought i would have lost at least half a pound!!
Any advice would be very grateful
thanks in advance
Lou|||Are you a new exerciser? You are probably holding water weight. Read through this: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/4747816.page.
I began an exercise program, or as I called it, my "intentional" walking, Feb of 2006. I had began attempts at exercising through the years but always gained 14 pounds then stopped despite people complementing me on my weight loss. They thought I had lost 35 to 50 pounds. It wasn't until I began walking to get my type II diabetes under-control that I ignored that weight gain. It was a good thing I did because I "walked" long enough and increased my distance and speed in that 3/4 month time to see that initial weight gain drop. However, it took another 3 years before I actually began to drop significant weight.
Also, if you have the time, try to read through this thread: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/6168916.page
Weight scales can be both a blessing and a curse.
NotThePest|||hi, I found that the first few weeks I could not visually see any weight loss at all, however, my clothes started to feel loose before I saw any difference on the weighing scales. Sometimes I think we focus on the scales too much. Hope this helps & Good luck :)|||Don't focus on the scale. Get your measurements and watch those. I just finished the 9 week program and MAYBE lost 1-2 pounds, BUT I lost quite a few inches! I figure the reason I want my weight to go down is so that I can look better in my clothes. That is what happened.
So, write down those measurements, check them every couple weeks, celebrate even the loss of .05", drink a lot of water, get a lot rest, enjoy feeling stronger, and have fun. It is an ongoing process-enjoy it. :)|||What exactly is eating healthy? allot of "healthy" foods really aren't, you need 3 meals and 2 snacks making 5 meals a day to have your metabolism running. Also active 2 workouts are 4 times a week follow the preset programs and you will lose weight. In the kick start you will just gain resistance for the 9 week program. I have lost 38lb so far with active 2 and diet it works... keep it up!!!
If you can post the food you are eating....|||hi there,
thank you all for your replies.
I have been working out on and off for a year now but now is the time I'm focusing on weight as its piled on once i stopped everything.
Im eating fruit & finer most mornings or brown toast, mid morning i try an aim for fruit lunch is either brown bread ham & salad sarnie or salad with a yogurt i might miss the mid afternoon snake or may have fruit dinner is either home made veggie soup, or roasted fresh veg with a pork chop/chicken * or fish this is my main diet that i eat all the time with lost of water and green tea.
Im doing the 3 week kick start and doing it morning and evening plus i go to the gym friday night for 2 hours and sunday morning for 2-3 hours that consists of 30 min on a hill setting, a 2000 meter row and a 20 min bike ride on a hill setting a 15 min sprint on the cross trainer and some weight work. and on top of all that i have a 3 yr old and 5 yr old to run around after and still no weight lost!
I'm looking forward to starting the 9 week programme maybe it will start to fall off then.

join a group for the Wii and loose weight together!
if you'd just like to join a group and help encourage each other whenever you have the extra time, this is the group. i try to use EA Active 2 for the Wii every day, and i personally have about 100 pounds to loose.
you'll find no judging here, only positive feedback and comments, or even if you never feel like saying anything at all, thats ok too ^_^
group name: Jaimefit
pass: workout
remember, this group is for the Wii
have 10 spaces left, feel free to join up and know you're not alone in this fight to get fit and start feeling good about yourself!|||since starting in August, i have burned 5,900 calories, worked out for over 11 hours total, and it feels great. sometimes i cant workout several days in a row because of work demands, but i always try to squeeze in a workout every 2 days.
i noticed that my stamina and heart rate has changed for the better already. i usually just make my own custom workouts, since i have knee troubles and can't really run. so i do step aerobics and alot of boxing and weight lifting. as soon as i get a workout mat of some sort, i will be implementing more stuff into my workouts. ^_^

PS3 Hardcore Gamer Workout Groups
I'm curious if there are any hardcore gaming work out groups. I don't mean people who play FPS so they can get a headshot. I'm talking about the kind of hardcore gamer that spends hours reading tips and strategies on the most effective way to level up your favorite character to level 9999, or someone who beat Demon's Souls, etcetera. I'm talking about the kind of person who squealed with glee when he saw Scott Pilgrim Vrs the World PSN game in action and was like "OMG I HOPE IT'S GOOD!"
Any work out groups like that? Where real gamers can feel like we belong?|||
I hear ya! I'm a real gamer where I put my time and effort into earning my character to level up. I have almost 170 hours just on mag and I'm no where near close to getting the platinum trophy.. It's a game and I have fun.
EA Active though, I'm going to give it to get the platinum trophy... one of the trophies is burn 10,000 calories... It may take a while but I will do it!
Maybe you could start a group on the PS3 and you'll have people join!
|||i haven't had a game i was interested in leveling up a character. not until the fight lights out came out.
i want to max everything out as quickly as possible.|||
This game is a gift from my dad since he wasn't able to get me a gym membership in time (they were having a really good special) but we're waiting for Black Friday so that we can get the best possible price. I have 8 days until I'm able to turn this game on for the first time, and to be honest, since I work in backstock in a retail chain, I'm probably going to be dead sore from backstocking so much merchandise, and running it out to the floor that day, and then I have to pull a second 8 hour shift that evening. So I won't be able to turn the thing on for a week and a half from now by the looks of it.
Which is why I posted this up. Hoping that maybe someone knows of a group I can join, or get someone excited about creating said group.

PS3 workout group for RNs
Hi all!
I'm an 23 year old RN from Florida. Just started Active 2 and I love it! Made this group for nurses who are serious about losing weight. Some of us have hectic schedules, but together we can achieve our goals!

(PS3) Group --- Over 30/Getting back into the groove
Getting back in shape for the soccer season and this time I'm going to stay fit. I just didn't have the time to do an hour of P90X each day but this is the perfect amount of time to get a good workout in. Started day 1 today, doing the 9-week medium workout (with the bands currently, but will get some weights instead soon).
Let's motivate each other and stick with it this time.
Groupname: fit4ward
Password: fit4ward|||Hi, I just joined your group. I also did my first workout today/9 week.
Just looking for someone/a group to help me keep on track. :)|||Welcome to the club, AllieG :)|||I don't know that I ever had a groove in the first place, but it'll be nice to get into one. :) I'm currently about to close out the 9wk/easy in a couple of weeks (and catching up on some missed workouts due to holiday travel problems), and thinking about trying out the 9wk/medium after that.|||I also just joined the group. I just completed my first week of the 9 week easy program.|||Hello all,
Just joined the group. Completed my second workout on easy today. Dear God I thought I was gonna die, though I know I need to keep on trying. Want more than anything to quit smoking and get back in shape. Good luck to everyone in the group. Thanks.
Richard
|||Just joined as well. I'm hoping the community feature will also help keep me motivated. Thanks for starting the group!|||I am with jsled...I've never had a groove! Tried my first workout today -9 week med, Didn't it make it past the jump rope portion. I will try again tomorrow on easy! I don't know what I was thinking! Good luck to all! Let's stay motivated!|||Hello, everyone. :)
I asked for and received a set of Bodyelastics resistance bands for Christmas, since the upper-body/muscle stuff isn't generally what I struggle with ... I could add a bit more resistance to the exercises I know I can do w/o pushing. Plus, I thought it'd be nice to have proper handles to grasp, rather than those simple loops. The handles do make a good bit of difference, even though I've only had occasion to bump up to the next level resistance band once or twice, so far.
|||Just got my "Game" Finished the first workout of the 9 week program today...hope it's not to late for me to join your group!!!|||Btw, brewsky ... who's "ward"? :)|||haha... it's meant to be a play on words for Fit Forward. :) But yeah, if you want to get in shape for Ward, whatever floats your boat!
Just finished workout number 4. Daaaaamn. Legs, legs, legs. After mountain climbers, foot fires, mountainboarding, FOOT FIRES, MOUNTAIN CLIMBERS, FOOT FIRES AGAIN, then mountainboarding... I was practically gumby. I'm feeling way better now after each workout, though. I'm playing soccer again on Wednesday this week so we'll see if I'm too tired or have a little bit more get up and go.
Also: I tried out a session with my wife today! We bought two games of Active (because the accessory pack for the PS3 isn't out yet) and we worked out together. It's pretty cool! She was the primary profile and got the Milestone for working out with a buddy and my entire workout got uploaded to my profile as well so I get credit for it.
It's pretty cool - if one person finishes long before the other, they can continue to work out and it tracks how many "bonus" reps you do and gives you a completion score of 100%+. At the end it gives the person who worked out harder the glory-screen at the end - I was very distraught, to say the least but I blamed it on my wife's instructor giving her a handicap, haha
Trying to stay motivated :) (I will post this in my other group as well)|||Hello all,
I joined this group yesterday after my 2nd workout on easy and was wondering why it is not showing up in the groups section that I completed it. I was wondering if tomorrow after I complete my 3rd workout will it then show up under the group what all I have done?|||group is full. just tried to join.

Yeah, I noticed that it doesn't update immediately. It should show up eventually though.
