Looking forward to getting back into shape and having fun in the process. I'm almost 50 and my goal is to lose 30 to 40 lbs. I welcome anyone who is looking to workout and have fun!
The group is: be_fit (you can find the underscore on the Wii by selecting "more" on the keyboard).

Julie|||Oooops, looks like I entered the message twice. So new to this.
Julie|||Hi HDavis,
I have just joined your group. I am on the 4th day of the 9 week program. I have about 40-50 pounds to lose and need all the motivation I can get.
I will be 58 in a couple of weeks and need to get back into shape.
Claudia|||Claudia,
Welcome! I just finished doing a two week "get started" program. Yesterday was my first day of the 9 week program. I don't know if you've done a workout program before but one thing to remember is that when you begin working out, your weight can actually fluctuate up before it starts going down. So don't get discouraged if that happens! I'm looking forward to the support and commeraderie as we work toward our goals!
Helen|||Hi Helen,
Thank you for responding. This is the first workout program I have joined. I have done Weight Watchers with some success but after a while I stopped going. Then I joined Jenny Craig and lost about 20 pounds, then went through remodeling my house which didn't allow me to exercise and therefore I got discouraged again. I was wondering about the fluctuating in my weight and starting to get discouraged. I have so much to lose so I don't want to quit. I have also signed up on MyFitnessPal.com to help with counting calories. What other things are you doing to lose weight?
Good luck to both of us! I am also looking forward to our working together to get to our goals.
Have a great day!
Claudia|||Claudia,
I just spent the weekend with my sister and she suggested the Weight Watcher's online program. I just started it today. I'm going to use it to track my food intake. I like that the program allows extra weekly points as well as allowing fitness/activity points to be swapped for food points. I also use the Wii Fit as my extra warm up before I do the Active 2 program. I do yoga and aerobics on it.
The reason you weight can fluctuate and even go up is that as you workout you are building muscle which is heavier and more dense that fat tissue. So your weight can initially increase before you begin to see changes in your weight and measurements. Don't be discouraged. I am struggling with wanting to see those changes begin for myself! We will both get where we want as long as we're patient and keep at it!
Helen|||Helen,
Thanks for the encouragement.
Keep me posted on how Weight Watchers online is working for you. When I joined it years ago, I would go to the weekly meetings. I was thinking about the online version because I oftentimes do not have the time to go to meetings. For now, I am determined to figure out how I can keep my calorie count down to 1200 calories a day. I will give MyFitnessPal a month to see if anything happens. If it doesn't work for me, I will again look at Weight Watchers.
What do you do on the rest days? I created a 30-minute step exercise but will take another look at my Wii Fit programs.
I am so excited to have a workout friend. Everyone around me does not need to lose weight or are in denial so I don't have anyone to go through this journey with me.
Claudia|||Hello Ladies,
I just joined your group today. I use to do WW too. I made Lifetime last year but sadly have gained 15 pounds.
I'm 46, I love to run and do yoga. I lift weights sometimes too. I have done two half-marathons but now i just run 5-10k's. I have put a lot of wear and tear on my body with the running so i wanted to find a workout program that would be either as easy or hard as i wanted it to be..so far i'm loving this program. The only problem i had was it not registering when i was doing tri kickbacks or hammer curls.
Hope you are all having a great day :)|||Hello all. I just joined your group. I received EA 2 for my b'day in mid December but due to holidays and fixing the boys Wii I just started my 9 week workout last night. I have EA Sport Active and More Workouts but need to lose some more pounds.
I am 41 and started the C25K program on my iPhone beginning of September but needed something to fill in the off days of running. C25K program is (Couch to 5K) is a program that allows you to listen to your own music and gives you audio instructions on when to run and when to walk. Each week the run time increases and the walk time decreases. It was a great introduction to help me start running and I found it a great filler to my off days for my EA Sports routine.
I have found that you have to do the kickbacks quicker than you would think in order for it to register. It took me about 1/2 the routine to get it to register that I was doing them on screen. I did them quicker and move my arms more than usual before it registered.
I did not have any problems with the hammer curls.
I do really like the way that you don't have to always hold the wii remote for all the exercises especially the ones that require the resistance band.|||Welcome TX
I have heard wonderful things about the C25K programs. How is your running progressing?
Thanks for the tips on the kickbacks. I will try that tomorrow or maybe later this afternoon since i stopped half into the workout because i could not get it to register.
Are you a member of the Running World forums?|||Hello to all! It's great to see so much interaction!! I think this is going to be a really interactive and supportive group which is exactly what I wanted. It's also nice to hear what other activities are going on outside of the EA program. I used to be a runner but haven't done any running in years. I know someone doing the c25k but didn't know there was an app. I'll have to check it out. Let's keep the momentum going!!!! ?|||Vanessa,
Running is going good. I went through the C25K program once and decided to start it over again. I am actually enjoying the idea of going out to run instead of dreading it.
No I am not a member of the Running World forum. This program is my first start into running. Was getting tired just walking around the block or in the neighborhood. Running has made it a little more bearable.|||Vanessa,
What part of Tx? I lived in Houston for several years. My family and I still miss it terribly!!!!
Helen
