Hi there,
I have just joined the group today, in aid of some advice please.
I have been doing the active 2, 3 week kickstart programme every single day for almost two weeks most days I will do it in the morning and in the evening I have been working out on the days of rest and going to the gym 1 to 2 times a week for 2-3 hours each time. I have cut my portions down and am eating very healthy. Even tho I feel quite good, I have not lost a single pound in weight!!!!! Im getting really really fed up now I know its only been 2 weeks and thats not a long time at all but considering what i was eating before and doing no exercise at all i thought i would have lost at least half a pound!!
Any advice would be very grateful
thanks in advance
Lou|||Are you a new exerciser? You are probably holding water weight. Read through this: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/4747816.page.
I began an exercise program, or as I called it, my "intentional" walking, Feb of 2006. I had began attempts at exercising through the years but always gained 14 pounds then stopped despite people complementing me on my weight loss. They thought I had lost 35 to 50 pounds. It wasn't until I began walking to get my type II diabetes under-control that I ignored that weight gain. It was a good thing I did because I "walked" long enough and increased my distance and speed in that 3/4 month time to see that initial weight gain drop. However, it took another 3 years before I actually began to drop significant weight.
Also, if you have the time, try to read through this thread: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/6168916.page
Weight scales can be both a blessing and a curse.
NotThePest|||hi, I found that the first few weeks I could not visually see any weight loss at all, however, my clothes started to feel loose before I saw any difference on the weighing scales. Sometimes I think we focus on the scales too much. Hope this helps & Good luck :)|||Don't focus on the scale. Get your measurements and watch those. I just finished the 9 week program and MAYBE lost 1-2 pounds, BUT I lost quite a few inches! I figure the reason I want my weight to go down is so that I can look better in my clothes. That is what happened.
So, write down those measurements, check them every couple weeks, celebrate even the loss of .05", drink a lot of water, get a lot rest, enjoy feeling stronger, and have fun. It is an ongoing process-enjoy it. :)|||What exactly is eating healthy? allot of "healthy" foods really aren't, you need 3 meals and 2 snacks making 5 meals a day to have your metabolism running. Also active 2 workouts are 4 times a week follow the preset programs and you will lose weight. In the kick start you will just gain resistance for the 9 week program. I have lost 38lb so far with active 2 and diet it works... keep it up!!!
If you can post the food you are eating....|||hi there,
thank you all for your replies.
I have been working out on and off for a year now but now is the time I'm focusing on weight as its piled on once i stopped everything.
Im eating fruit & finer most mornings or brown toast, mid morning i try an aim for fruit lunch is either brown bread ham & salad sarnie or salad with a yogurt i might miss the mid afternoon snake or may have fruit dinner is either home made veggie soup, or roasted fresh veg with a pork chop/chicken * or fish this is my main diet that i eat all the time with lost of water and green tea.
Im doing the 3 week kick start and doing it morning and evening plus i go to the gym friday night for 2 hours and sunday morning for 2-3 hours that consists of 30 min on a hill setting, a 2000 meter row and a 20 min bike ride on a hill setting a 15 min sprint on the cross trainer and some weight work. and on top of all that i have a 3 yr old and 5 yr old to run around after and still no weight lost!
I'm looking forward to starting the 9 week programme maybe it will start to fall off then.
x
